Any assurance, forensic or advisory work is performed only under a signed engagement with Local Knowledge Pty Ltd that sets out the scope, deliverables, limitations and fees. Nothing on this website creates an engagement or a client relationship on its own.
We do not sign statutory trust account audits in-house. To keep the assurance genuinely independent of the people who keep the books, statutory audits are arranged by referral to an independent registered auditor. Our in-house work — outgoings assurance, forensic investigations and controls health checks — is delivered by Local Knowledge Pty Ltd under a signed engagement and is deliberately lane-separated from the statutory audit.
Assurance and forensic work provide reasonable assurance based on the records, evidence and scope agreed — they are not a guarantee that no error, misappropriation or fraud has occurred or will occur. A clean audit means the records reconcile within the scope tested; it does not certify that no wrongdoing exists.
The usefulness of any assurance depends on the completeness and accuracy of the records and information you provide. You remain responsible for your own compliance obligations, including maintaining trust records and meeting lodgement deadlines, except to the extent expressly agreed in an engagement.
Our work is performed in accordance with the applicable professional and ethical standards. Where a conflict or self-review threat would arise, we will decline the work or arrange it independently rather than compromise that standard.
